Your membership of the NHS Pension Scheme ensures that in the event of your death a tax-free lump sum equal to two times your pensionable income is paid out to your beneficiaries. The Trustees of the scheme have discretion as to whom this money is paid and therefore it can be paid outside of your estate thus avoiding potential Inheritance Tax. In addition, a Spouses and Dependants pension can also be payable – see our Life Assurance Cover page.
If you have substantial financial commitments such as mortgages and school fees etc, we recommend you consider additional life cover.
Contact us for Specialist Independent Financial Planning Advice to discuss the vast range of different schemes and options available.
